First Impressions Start at the Curb

Summer is one of the best times to showcase your home’s exterior. Lush green lawns, blooming flowers, and longer daylight hours naturally make homes look their best—but only if they’re well maintained.

Before You List Your Home:

  • Refresh mulch and trim shrubs.
  • Pull weeds and keep flower beds tidy.
  • Mow the lawn and edge walkways.
  • Power wash the front walkway, porch, and siding if needed.
  • Add a fresh welcome mat and a few colorful potted flowers.
  • Touch up the front door with a fresh coat of paint if it needs it.

Before Every Showing:

  • Mow the lawn if needed.
  • Sweep the walkway, porch, and front steps.
  • Water flowers and plants.
  • Move trash and recycling bins out of sight.
  • Park vehicles away from the front of the home when possible.
  • Turn on the porch light if it’s cloudy or an evening showing.

Remember, buyers begin forming an opinion the moment they pull into the driveway. A great first impression can set a positive tone for the entire showing and help buyers see your home’s full potential.
